Our story
Kenya, shown by someone who grew up in it
Riding, walking and game-drive safaris, planned and guided by John Ekalale.

How it started
One guide, and a country he knows from the inside
Ekalale Riding Safari and Tours started with one idea: that the best way to see Kenya is with someone who knows it from the inside.
John Ekalale grew up in Laikipia, around wildlife. He has been guiding in Kenya for more than seventeen years and is a KPSGA-certified guide. Today he’s based in Enonkishu, on the northern edge of the Maasai Mara.
Over the years he has got to know the stables, lodges, conservancies and parks across the country, and the people who run them. So when you plan a trip with him, he can put together the right horses, the right camp and the right route for you, then guide you through it himself.
What John offers
Three ways to explore
Every safari is built from scratch around how you like to travel, how much you ride and what you’d love to see. Do one, or mix all three in a single trip.

Horseback safaris
Ride alongside giraffe and zebra, far from the roads.

Walking safaris
Leave the vehicle behind and learn to read the bush on foot.
