A game drive with John isn’t about ticking animals off a list. It’s about understanding the bush as a living system, where every sound, every track and every movement on the horizon is part of a bigger story.
With John beside you, a lion isn’t just resting in the shade: he’s waiting, calculating. A distant bird call becomes a warning. A trail of hoofprints turns into a moment of discovery.
John has spent more than seventeen years guiding in Kenya. He arranges the vehicle and access through the lodges, conservancies and parks he works with, then guides the drives himself. He explains what you’re seeing as it happens, and by the end of a few drives you’ll be reading the bush yourself.

How we do it
Early and late
The cool hours after dawn and before dusk are when animals move most and the light is softest. That’s when we like to be out.
Time to watch
No rushing off to the next sighting. A cheetah waking up, or a herd coming down to drink, is worth waiting for.
